Oversee delivery of the Festival’s in venue accessible screenings and events, in close collaboration with the Festivals Production & Events Manager

To liaise with festival guests and delegates regarding their access needs, having a detailed discussion with the person as early as possible around what their access requirements are for the festival and potential solutions

Working with each department to assist in booking any equipment required and arranging access support where needed. For example, ramps, wheelchairs, professional sign language interpreters, captioners, support workers

Working with the guest team to arrange the booking of accessible travel and accommodation, which may involve sourcing accessible cars / cabs, booking passenger assistance on trains / planes, checking accommodation has grab rails, a track for a hoist, a roll-in shower etc

To ensure the accuracy of venue access information across the brochure and websites

Work closely with Marketing and Programme teams to ensure that access measures are effectively communicated and promoted, and that accessible marketing materials and methods are used

Working with the Digital/Marketing teams to ensure that information about accessible screenings and events is up-to-date, making sure that any changes throughout the festival are communicated effectively

Working with the BFI Outreach Manager, proactively liaise with relevant groups and individuals to effectively promote access measures, ensuring that accessible screenings and events are effectively communicated to relevant groups, community partners, charities and disability groups
Job Requirements

A strong, demonstrable passion for making sure events are accessible for all
-
Significant experience of working in a film festival or similar high-volume cultural events environment or arts organisation in a similar role
-
Active knowledge of current best practice around access provision

Demonstrable experience of working with and implementing systems to meet access requirements within a live events setting

Experience of dealing with a wide range of internal and external clients
-
Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Microsoft Excel)

A proven track record of promoting and supporting diversity and inclusion.
