Gymnasts for Change International

Job Summary

Trustee with experience in advocacy to drive new strategy at innovative human rights charity

Job Description

Established as a registered charity in early 2024, G4CI is entering an exciting new chapter. We are now looking to expand our Board of Trustees by appointing at least two new members who can bring specialist expertise in the charity’s core activities to help shape the organisation’s next phase, whilst maintaining the central role of lived experience.

This is a pivotal time to join us. Our advocacy has already contributed to meaningful policy reform within British Gymnastics, and we are now focused on sustaining pressure for implementation, pushing for legal reform, and supporting international efforts for cultural change in the sport worldwide.

We would like to appoint at least two new trustees, and particularly welcome applications from people with experience in:

  • Human rights campaigning and/or strategic litigation – including arts based advocacy
  • Sports governance

Beginning in late 2025, G4CI will launch its Survivor-Led Arts Programme, a dedicated strand of work that uses the arts as a vehicle for testimony, solidarity, and systemic change. This initiative will provide survivors with creative platforms – through film, exhibitions, performance, and oral history – to share their experiences and challenge the entrenched cultures of silence in gymnastics.

Job Requirements

We are seeking to appoint at least two trustees, and we welcome applications from people with either of the following areas of expertise:

Trustee with experience in advocacy, campaigning or strategic litigation

Including:

  • Designing or delivering successful advocacy or media campaigns including through the arts;
