Job Description
This is a part-time on-site role for a LAMDA Speech and Drama Teacher located at Wallington High School for Girls for group lessons (which can also open opportunities to teach in private homes within the local area for 1-1 lessons).
Working Days
- Group Lessons: Tuesdays (2)3pm to (~4)~5pm and/or Wednesdays 3pm to ~5pm during term time and two exam Sundays (one in February and one in June).
- Private Lessons: Monday – Saturday at times arranged between teacher and client to suit both for 30/45/60min weekly or biweekly lessons.
Start Date: September 2025 onwards during term time.
- Autumn Term 2025: Lessons commence, Wed 17th Sep and lessons conclude, Wed 10th Dec
- Spring Term 2026: Lessons commence, Tue 6th Jan and lessons conclude, Wed 18th Mar
- Summer Term 2026: Lessons commence, Tue 14th Apr and lessons conclude, Wed 24th Jun
- Annual meeting: Thu 4th Sep 9:30am-12:30pm
- New Teacher Training: tbc according to new hires availability
Pay
Teachers are freelance and responsible for their own tax.
*£45p/h group lessons
**£21/£29/£37 private 1-1 lessons
Travel is paid up to £10 per day dependent on proof of travel receipt or mileage at 0.45p p/m.
*Experienced teachers in the LAMDA syllabi
**According to lesson length
Successful candidates who choose to accept the role:
– An Enhanced online DBS will be arranged should they need.
– Safeguarding courses will need to be completed through the school.
– Personal Liability Insurance for drama teachers will need to be sought and proven.
All of the above will be at the expense of the teacher accepting the role as all are transferable to other roles in the same working sector and beyond.

Job Requirements
Must have qualifications
- Experience in drama and performing arts
- Experience in teaching and teaching acting
- Bachelor’s degree in Theatre, Drama, Education, or a related field
- 1-3 years of experience in teaching drama and performing arts
- Must be located in commutable distance to Wallington, England, United Kingdom
Preffered Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills
- Ability to inspire and motivate young people
- Previous experience with LAMDA exam qualifications is a plus
Job Responsibilities
The teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality speech and drama lessons, completing lesson plans according to each lessons focus and aim that is pre-set by PTO, and ensuring students’ progress in the chosen LAMDA examination syllabus in order to pass their examinations.
Weekly tasks include planning and delivering engaging lessons often alongside another teacher for group lessons, assessing student performance, providing feedback, and preparing students for twice annual LAMDA examinations in the LAMDA performance and communication syllabi.
