£37,000 – £40,000 pro rata – 22.5 hours per week – 12 months fixed-term/interim contract.
The role will support our current Director as she works reduced hours for the next year and will involve operational leadership of a small, dedicated management team. The trustees will support you in the role, bringing a wealth of expertise, and strategic guidance.
Leadership and team management skills are a key part of the role as well as strong operational skills to ensure the efficient and smooth running of the theatre, the Allsop Gallery and the Bridport Prize and to deliver the business plan. You will also need to have a strategic perspective on the organisation, representing it to funders, policymakers, and the wider community and deputising for the Director.
Strong financial skills are a must as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences and maintain and build relationships.
You will lead on grant applications and fund-raising initiatives, actively seeking to secure funding for the organisation from a variety of sources and stakeholders, and exploring new income sources.
Job Requirements
– Working recent senior operational experience of the arts and charitable
sectors.
– Strong leadership and management skills. Ability to motivate and inspire
staff, build teams, and manage complex operations.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Financial acumen. Understanding of financial management principles and
ability to manage budgets and track financial performance.
– Ability to deliver on BAC’s business plan and to anticipate and respond to
changing circumstances.
– Knowledge of charity governance, legal compliance and working with
boards.
– Understanding of fundraising and resource development. Ability to have
input into securing funding from a variety of sources.
– Ability to collaborate with management team to drive an audience
development programme to increase ticket income and broaden range of
audiences to events.
– Effective administrative and IT skills.
