Head of Wigs – Waitress UK and Ireland Tour

The Head of Wigs is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of all wigs and the smooth running of the wigs department, including supervision of all Wigs staff

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Responsible for all aspects of the planning, supervision and maintenance of all wigs into each venue.
2. To prepare and update a wigs bible.
3. To attend the get-in, fit-up and get-outs as required.
4. To supervise the touring wig staff and local venue casual staff.
5. To oversee and advise on cast makeup as required.
6. To ensure all wigs are cleaned and dressed daily and in working order for each performance.
7. To co-ordinate the supply of all make-up required for the show and to plan and co-ordinate the make- up use on the show, including all body make up.
8. To liaise with artistic management regarding daily cast changes and prepare wigs changes accordingly.
9. To ensure all equipment is unpacked and prepared at each venue of the tour.
10. To co-ordinate and supervise the get-out of wigs equipment at each venue, and to prepare equipment ready for loading at the end of the run.
11. To ensure that any orders for goods or equipment are made on an appropriate purchase order form and approved by the Producer.
12. To provide a carnet for the wigs department for any overseas engagements if required.
13. Attend production meetings, rehearsals, calls and performances as required.
14. Adhere to the Health and Safety guidelines of the Company.
15. Any other duties as may be reasonably required in the course of your duties or as instructed by the Producers from time to time.
16. Supervise, order and maintain the make-up stock and work with the cast to maintain the make-up artistic ‘look’ of the show throughout the run.
