The Marlowe Theatre is seeking an experienced professional to run the wardrobe, wigs, wigs and make-up department of its upcoming production of https://marlowetheatre.com/shows/the-party-girls/ – The Party Girls – a new play by Amy Rosenthal, directed by Richard Beecham.

The Head of Wardrobe, Wigs, Hair & Make-up will work with the Company Stage Manager, Production Manager, alongside the rest of the technical team and the cast and creatives, to facilitate all wardrobe, wigs, hair and make-up requirements of The Party Girls tour, September-October 2025.

£850 per week plus travel, subsistence and touring allowance.

Job Requirements

  • Extensive experience of theatrical wardrobe, wigs, hair and make-up work

  • Experience as a head or deputy head of department

  • Touring experience

  • Experience in scheduling and managing a department

  • Excellent knowledge of theatrical wardrobe, wigs, hair and make-up

  • Excellent sewing skills and working knowledge of theatre costume

  • Experience with cutting and styling hair and barbering

  • A calm and practical approach to technical troubleshooting

  • Knowledge of current applicable health and safety legislation

  • The ability to work well with others and to work calmly under pressure

  • Good communication and organisational skills

  • The ability to work under minimal supervision and to adapt work in accordance with performance requirements

  • The ability to handle confidential information with discretion
