Salary: £800p/w and Touring Allowance and travel paid as per UK Theatre/Equity
Production Details:
A chilling mystery begins when a young actress suddenly dies on stage during a performance, and Detective Chief Inspector Morse embarks on a gripping investigation. What begins as a suspicious death inquiry takes a darker turn when the legendary inspector, together with DS Lewis, uncovers a connection to sinister events in his own past, twenty-five years earlier.
Inspector Morse: House of Ghosts marks the first-ever stage adaptation of the iconic detective. ITV’s long-running Inspector Morse, hailed by Radio Times as ‘The greatest British crime series of all time’, has inspired equally beloved spin-offs, Lewis and Endeavour.
Schedule:
- Handover week in Birmingham Rep – Monday 8th September 2025
- First touring week w/c Monday 15th Sept 2025
- The UK tour will run from w/c 15th September 2025 – 12th April 2026.
There will be five weeks of intended holiday over the Christmas period as well as a further week in the middle of February.
The Role
The Head of Wardrobe is responsible for the planning, supervision and maintenance of all costuming and the smooth running of the wardrobe department. and work collaboratively with other departments to ensure a smooth running of the show. Local laundry support will be provided where necessary.
Experience working on a similar scale production is required.
Job Requirements
- Responsible for all aspects of the planning, supervision and maintenance of all costumes in each venue to the standard required by the Designer and Costume Supervisor.
- To prepare and update a costume bible with the Costume Supervisor.
- To supervise other members of the department.
- To ensure all costumes are cleaned appropriately and in working order for each performance, including coordinating dry cleaning.
- To devise all dressing show plots for the production and teach local dressers as required.
- To liaise with artistic management regarding cast changes and prepare costume changes accordingly.
- To buy replacement costumes as required and to fit and alter costumes as needed during the run of the production including Understudies.
