You will have experience of working with some element of Future Tech- VP Environments, MOCAP and experience of directing screen and audio and projects.
Job Requirements
LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) is seeking an exceptional individual to join our Drama School as Head of Screen and Audio Training. This is a key student-facing role for a creative and
progressive educator with a strong pedagogical vision and a deep commitment to the development of actors and creatives in screen, audio, and digital performance.
This senior position offers a unique opportunity to curate, lead and evolve the skills training that underpins all screen and audio teaching across our undergraduate and postgraduate acting courses. You will shape and oversee the curriculum and delivery of this vital area, ensuring it reflects the demands of an evolving industry and meets the highest standards of conservatoire training.
With a focus on teaching, learning, and curriculum design, this role is ideal for a practitioner-pedagogue who is passionate about actor training and keen to influence how we prepare students for screen and audio
work across genres and formats.
Job Responsibilities
- Deliver tutorials to the acting students and draw up written assessments of the students at the end of each unit of work, as well as oversee the drawing up of written assessments by other teachers in the discipline, including mid-term and end of term feedback
- Lead on the development of the syllabus for Acting skills and practice in the discipline across undergraduate and postgraduate courses
- Lead on module development in liaison with Course Leaders and the Vice Principal of Actor Training and Drama School
- Assist on recruitment of permanent faculty
- Lead on recruitment of hourly paid teachers and specialist tutors in the discipline in accordance with the curriculum
- Coordinate the allocation of teachers to screen and audio skills classes and training and shoot/record sessions in accordance with budget and FTE restrictions.
- Line manage permanent Screen and Audio faculty, tutors and freelance specialists
- Oversee the quality of teaching through teaching observations
