Job Description
We are looking for individuals with experience in a customer-facing role and the ability to actively provide a welcoming enriching and memorable experience. You will be a clear and effective verbal communicator with a flexible approach, willing to take on a variety of tasks inclusive of providing visitor tours of our exhibitions.
You will welcome visitors and guests to Serpentine, and be able to manage queries using excellent customer service skills and escalating when necessary. You will encourage visitors to attend both Galleries – Serpentine North and Serpentine South – promoting our exhibitions, our annual Pavilion and provide information on exhibitions, events and the surrounding area to enhance their visit.
You will also have the opportunity to learn about Serpentine’s programme, from artists to art works on display and share your knowledge by providing tours to visitors. You will also be involved in sales by promoting and selling merchandise, and advising on product information, availability and pricing.
This is an exciting opportunity to work for an internationally renowned gallery. You’ll be hands on, happy to pitch in and enjoy working in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.
Please note: This role is subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Employment will be conditional on the successful completion of this check in line with our safeguarding policies.

Visitor Experience Induction Day (paid): Monday, 2 March 2026 between 9:30 – 17:30.

Job Requirements
Essential:
- Experience working in a customer-facing environment and delivering excellent customer service.
- Ability to actively provide a welcoming enriching and memorable experience.
- A clear and effective verbal communicator.
- Flexible approach, willing to take on a variety of tasks.
- Ability to work to own initiative and as part of a team.
- Vigilance within surroundings and awareness of security issues.
- Excellent presentation, punctuality and reliability.
- Alertness for quick response to emergency situations and evacuations.
- Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
- Experience in Microsoft Office.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a gallery/museum/hospitality setting.
- Awareness of Health and Safety issues.
- Fluent in another language and/or sign language skills.
- Previous experience working with a Ticketing System would be an advantage.
- An up-to-date First Aid Certificate.
