Job Summary

Seeking a freelance fundraiser to support an independent theatre artist with fundraising strategy, bids, and admin.

Job Description

I’m a neurodivergent independent theatre director/producer looking for an experienced and thoughtful fundraiser to support me in developing and resourcing upcoming creative work. This is a short-term, part-time role funded through Access to Work and framed as an access support position – the focus is on helping me work sustainably and stay on top of key admin and planning tasks.

You’ll support me in identifying potential funders (from Arts Council England and charitable trusts to commercial sponsors and co-producers), drafting proposals, shaping funding strategy, tracking timelines, and managing communications. The emphasis is on collaboration, flexibility, and making the workload more manageable.

This is not a performance-targeted fundraising role – your input helps reduce access barriers such as overwhelm, task paralysis, and executive dysfunction. You’ll be helping me to focus, stay organised, and keep momentum, particularly during busy or high-pressure phases.

Work will be paid at £25 per hour with plenty of flexibilty and the option to work remotely for approx. 8-12 hours per month (negotiable based on availability and project needs)

I am currently looking to fund two significant projects for which I have producers on board.

This role would be well suited to someone with a background in fundraising, producing or arts admin, who values care-informed working and wants to contribute meaningfully to independent theatre practice. I would particularly love to hear from people with experience of supporting neurodivergent creatives.

Start date and contract length are flexible, depending on project needs and availability.
