Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial
-
To ensure the timely input, recording and reporting of theatre staff time sheets, payroll and holiday.

Monitor the quality & financial performance of the Theatre’s bar, merchandise and cleaning operations.
Front of House and Operations
-
To act as Duty Manager for daytime & evening shifts for not less than 3 performances per week, including evenings and weekends, as required.

To manage the Front of House and bar staff to ensure the delivery of excellent customer service.
-
To be responsible for the safety of staff, audiences and guests at all times.
-
To lead with the recruitment for the Front of House/bar teams, and to deliver and manage staff induction and training.
-
Ensure strict controls on all cash management issues, including sales reports, receipts and cashing-up procedures.

Take a proactive approach to sales of programmes, merchandise and other income generating opportunities.

Write and distribute a post-performance report to the Producers.

Assist with ordering and undertake stock control.
Access and audience experience
-
To oversee the access provision of services during performances.
-
To ensure that visitors with special needs or access requirements are catered for appropriately and to organise all access performances.
Cleaning & Theatre Maintenance
-
Oversee the Theatre’s cleaning operation, ensuring the highest standard of cleanliness throughout the building demise.

Ensure that staff are properly supported and equipped to maintain cleanliness during performance times.
Customer Feedback
-
Develop the Theatre’s Customer Complaints policy, replying to all communications and ensuring all complaints are processed to the standards set out in that policy in an effective and appropriate manner.

Ensure all positive feedback is distributed to the relevant departments and replied to.
Job Requirements
Essential:
-
Proven experience of leading and managing a hospitality team.
-
Excellent and proactive customer service skills.
-
Experience of supervising/managing a bar.
-
Ability to work independently and exercise initiative and to work effectively under pressure.
-
Excellent verbal and interpersonal and good written communication skills
-
Good level of IT literacy.
-
Strong administrative, organisational, time management and prioritisation abilities to maintain systems, records and rotas.
-
Flexibility in relation to duties and working hours which will include evenings and weekends.
-
An interest in the arts and entertainment industry
Desirable:
-
Knowledge of Health & Safety and licensing law and regulations with experience of implementing and monitoring safe working practices
-
Qualifications/certificates in Health & Safety, fire safety and/or first aid
-
Understanding of access and disability issues
- Personal Alcohol Licence
