Job Summary

Funded by the ACE/ DCMS Museum Renewal Fund, the Museum of Oxford (MOX) is seeking an experienced Freelance Philanthropy Lead to deliver the first year of its new Individual Giving Strategy

Job Description

Working closely with the Museum team, Oxford City Council, and the Museum Development Trust, you’ll establish a new framework for individual giving, cultivate donor relationships, and drive the museum’s first-year target of £40,000. You will also shape long-term fundraising foundations and help enhance the museum’s future capacity.

Job Requirements

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven success generating philanthropic income for cultural or heritage organisations

  • Strong experience delivering fundraising strategies in small cultural settings

  • Understanding of donor motivations, including community philanthropy

  • Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder-engagement skills

  • Ability to establish new individual giving schemes and work collaboratively across teams

  • Knowledge of the museum sector (essential); knowledge of Oxford’s philanthropic landscape is a plus
