Job Summary

Imperial College London’s Public and Community Engagement team is looking to contract a freelance Event Coordinator to help programme and deliver the Imperial Lates 2026/27 season—a creative series of after-hours evenings of scientific exploration for adult audiences.

Job Description

The Imperial Lates are social, themed evenings where visitors explore the latest research at Imperial through interactive unique experiences. These evening events are aimed at young adult audiences (18-35), attracting around 750 visitors per event, many new to Imperial. This contract is ideal for a freelancer who combines creative programming skills with strong, large-scale event production experience, as well as excellent project management and communication skills.

Working with the Public Engagement Programmes Coordinator & Adult Programming Lead, you will help curate and produce three Imperial Lates events (October, November and January). You’ll contribute to creating engaging experiences that inspire the public about cutting-edge science, while also leading on elements of delivery. The role builds in responsibility over time, culminating in leading the full delivery of the January 2027 Lates event.
