Job Description

The Role

We are seeking a Producer with strategic vision and a passion for intercultural work to join Chinaissance during this founding stage in a hybrid capacity:

  • As a Founding Board Member, contributing to the strategic development and governance of the company

This is a unique opportunity to shape a new company from the ground up, helping to build its producing structures, funding strategy, and touring models, while also being actively involved in realising its first major artistic work.

Job Requirements

Person Specification

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has demonstrable experience in producing theatre, dance, or live performance projects in the UK.

  • Understands funding landscapes (especially Arts Council England) and producing models for small to mid-scale work.

  • Has a genuine interest in intercultural performance, heritage, or movement-based work.

  • Is excited by the idea of building a company collaboratively from the ground up.

  • Is strategic, reliable, and open to long-term collaboration.

Job Responsibilities

Board Responsibilities (Voluntary)

  • Contribute by producing insight to the company’s governance and strategic planning.

  • Attend regular board meetings (approx. 4 per year).

  • Act as an advocate for Chinaissance within the arts sector.

  • Support the company’s fundraising strategy and long-term development.

Formal board appointments will take place once the company is legally registered. This recruitment is part of the founding process.
