Job Description
You will be responsible for the overall development and delivery of a permanent public offer of object displays, art commissions, powerful personal stories, digital assets and interactives, worthy of the world’s best museums, galleries and science centres, based at the St Mary’s hospital campus, the location of Sir Alexander Fleming’s discovery of penicillin. You will do so in a way that allows visitors to participate in engaged AMR research, creating a living lab as an extension of the Fleming Centre’s research spaces.
You will:
- champion the Fleming Initiative’s approach of putting the public at the heart of our work;
- line-manage a Content Developer to develop the exhibition Content Plan;
- directly involve local communities in shaping the exhibition Design Brief;
- assemble and direct a multi-disciplinary creative team to bring this vision to life
Job Requirements
Degree or equivelant
Experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams to create major exhibitions
Experience of complex stakeholder management
Experience of writing creative briefs
Experience of scoping, running and coordinating multiple consultants contributing to a shared goal
Experience of working unsupervised with responsibility for managing own work
Experience of active involvement in fundraising and funder reporting
Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
Experience of managing object loans and display
Experience of working with active researchers and/or healthcare professionals
Desirable, experience of commissioning artists, scoping and delivering interactive exhibits and from-scratch digital footprint, working with patient and/or public groups and incorporating their voices into exhibition design and content
