Imperial College London
Job Summary
Job Description
The post-holder will develop and deliver content for the Fleming Centre’s public engagement outputs, working closely with our intended audiences. Specifically, the post holder will create content for the Fleming Centre’s landmark permanent exhibition and associated digital presence, where the public can discover and contribute to the past, present and future of AMR research. Their work will take place in the context of a capital redevelopment to create the Fleming Centre – currently being designed by renowned architects Stanton Williams – on the campus of St Mary’s Hospital where Alexander Fleming discovered penicillin.
The post holder will be a key contributor to the creation of a world-class public offer, developed with the direct involvement of its intended audiences from our local communities. They will develop and execute a powerful, audience-appropriate content plan, working closely with a multi-disciplinary creative team to bring our vision to life. They will also be a key voice within the Fleming Initiative, providing public engagement expertise and championing our approach of putting the public at the heart of Fleming Initiative’s work.
The post holder will be creating a cultural offer in a new public venue, from within a project team characterised by healthcare and academic excellence rather than experience of delivering public-facing projects of this nature. The post holder will benefit from line management by the Fleming Exhibition Development Manager (currently being recruited), strategic oversight by the Fleming Initiative’s (consultant) Public Engagement & Involvement Lead and expert advice from the Exhibition Advisory Group. But they should be self-starting, confident working independently, experienced at operating in multi-disciplinary teams and confident drawing on external support.
