THIS POSITION IS FOR A PAINTER, PREFERABLY TRAINED IN OBSERVATIONAL DRAWING AND PAINTING. WE DO NOT CONSIDER APPLICATIONS FROM OTHER TYPES OF ARTISTS.
We are seeking an experienced drawing and painting artist/ teacher for a permanent part time position. You’d be joining a close knitted team of painters/ educators with a passion for painting and strong sense of community.
We use a grid system method to copy from photographs and masters. Drawing in charcoal and painting in acrylic. You will be given training on how to teach our highly successful method.
We deeply care about our tutors professional artistic development and offer: Authorised extended or short leave to prepare for their own shows and residencies! In return, we require flexibility in terms of availability. As the whole team covers each other when staff go on leave. This is a unique privilege which our staff highly values.
We have two studios based at Hackney City Farm, a beautiful community hub, home to many projects with a shared ethos, focused on sustainability and care for our local community.

Great rates of pay: flexible work under contract, meaning you can work as many shifts as you’d like. We require a minimum 1 day per week (Consisting of a morning + afternoon or an afternoon + evening shift per day) maximum 6 days a week.

Must have:
Essential:
We are looking for a skilled painter with a passion for education. Extensive technical knowledge in realistic and representational charcoal drawing from observation and acrylic (or oil) painting techniques. Please be aware applicants lacking those skills will not be considered for the job.
Art Degree or equivalent in practical skills
Teaching experience
Clean DBS
Be committed, punctual, responsible, and reliable
Great people’s skills
