Job Summary

The part-time Finance Manager (0.6 FTE) will work with the AD/CEO to oversee the financial management of Stanley Arts, including budgeting, cashflow, financial reporting, and ensuring the integrity of financial records. They will play a key role in supporting the organisation’s strategic objectives

Job Description

Working closely with the Artistic Director/CEO and senior leadership team, the Finance Manager will oversee and advise on the end of month/ quarter & year accounting and financial processing as well as producing the quarterly management accounts.
Day-to-day finance (including the payroll and VAT returns) is completed by the experienced General Manager and Finance Administrator but this role will lead on the financial processes for the business, the overall budget and the financial management of Stanley Arts Capital Development Project. They will collaborate
with the General Manager, Development Manager, Events & Operations Manager, Marketing Manager, Bars Manager, Learning and Engagement Manager, Finance Administrator & other team members to ensure financial processes are effective
and aligned with organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly and annual statements for the Board of Trustees and Arts Council England, ensuring profit & loss, cash-flow and balance sheets are reviewed alongside restricted and unrestricted funds.
Work with the AD/CEO to create the annual operational budget and quarterly financial forecasting.
Take responsibility for the preparation of management accounts and financial performance reviews.
Oversee the financial management of £7.5 million Capital Development Project.
Ensure compliance with all statutory financial and tax obligations, including the charity’s annual returns and financial regulatory reporting.
Oversee the finance work carried out by the General Manager and Finance Administrator, advising on journals, depreciation and finance processes with an overview of Stanley Art’s cashflow, payroll process and VAT returns.
Monitor and review all financial processes.
Carry out other duties which reasonably relate to the above duties as they arise.
Prepare for and lead the annual audit and financial end of year process.

Job Requirements

Essential:
Trained as an accountant or currently in training as an accountant.
Proven experience in financial management for a small to medium sized charitable organisation with experience of managing and reporting on restricted and unrestricted funds.
Experience of and proficiency in modern online accounting software; ideally Xero accounts package.
Experience of working collaboratively as part of a team.
Strong financial and numerical literacy with a high level of diligence and attention to detail.
Good interpersonal skills.
A proactive and solutions-focused approach to finance management
Desirable:
Experience of working with Google Sheets & Google Drive systems.
Experience of working on finance for a small-medium capital project and Capital Goods Scheme claims.
Experience of working with third party ticketing websites.
Experience of financial management or administration in an arts organisation.
Knowledge of deferral based accounting methods.
Understanding of TTR
