Chain Reaction

Job Summary

Passionate about empowering young women? Join the award-winning Chain Reaction as a drama facilitator to deliver our powerful Girls Support Girls programme in East London schools. Use creativity to build confidence, wellbeing, resilience and real-life skills for girls aged 13–16.

Job Description

We’re looking for a confident, streetwise and experienced female drama facilitator to join Chain Reaction to help deliver our transformative Girls Support Girls (GSG) programme this autumn through to July 2026.

To reflect the vibrant communities we work with, we actively encourage applicants from ethnically diverse backgrounds.

Girls Support Girls (GSG) is a one-day programme that will be delivered to 10 East London schools between November and July 2026. Alongside an experienced facilitator, you’ll be working 1 day a week; 10 days x 7-hour days with the potential to take on more.

We offer a £150 day rate (10 days at £150 a day = £1,500), a collaborative working environment and the chance to be part of something truly meaningful.

This is a brilliant opportunity to be part of a project that uplifts and inspires vulnerable young women aged 13-16. Using creative, theatre-based methods, GSG supports girls in building self-esteem, emotional resilience, aspirations and essential life skills – motivating them to reach their full potential.

GSG explores sensitive topics relevant to young women. To ensure participants feel safe and able to engage openly, this role requires a female facilitator. Rooted in a “women supporting women” ethos, Girls Support Girls promotes female role models and mentoring.

We’re seeking someone:

  • Energetic, relatable and inspiring.
  • Experienced in working with marginalised young people aged 13-16.
  • Passionate about using drama and creativity as tools for social change.

You’ll work in a small supportive team to deliver pre-planned, drama-based sessions that are emotionally engaging and give girls the confidence to express themselves, challenge pressures and thrive.

Chain Reaction is an award-winning organisation currently celebrating 30 years. Working in partnership with schools, local councils and community groups, we create bold, emotionally engaging projects that make a real, lasting impact to the lives of young people.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience working with young people aged 13-16 from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong drama, facilitation or performance background.
  • Excellent communication, empathy and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate groups using creative approaches.
  • Confident in managing group dynamics and supporting vulnerable participants.
  • Reliable, punctual and adaptable to varied settings.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
  • DBS-checked (or willingness to obtain).
  • Availability during school hours.
