Job Description
Balcone is a fashion e-commerce platform focused on curating distinctive contemporary brands from Europe for the Southeast Asian market.
Founded by a former Fashion Director and stylist with over eight years of experience in the industry, Balcone is built on strong curation, editorial vision, and close relationships with designers. Alongside the e-commerce platform, Balcone Journal plays a central role in shaping how the brand communicates, informs, and builds its community.
The Journal is where Balcone goes beyond product. It is a space for fashion news, designer interviews, cultural pieces, and insider perspectives, offering context, opinion, and industry awareness to an international audience in Southeast Asia.
As a new and growing business, we are expanding the Journal and are looking for sharp writers and editors who want to grow with the platform and contribute to its early editorial voice.
Job Requirements
- Background or strong interest in fashion, art, culture, or media
- Strong writing skills and editorial sensibility
- Clear point of view and awareness of the fashion industry and its news cycle
- Curiosity, initiative, and confidence in discovering new ideas and brands
- Editorial experience at any level (student, independent, emerging, or established voices welcome)
Job Responsibilities
You will contribute to Balcone Journal by:
- Writing fashion articles, fashion news, and interview pieces
- Researching and pitching relevant stories within fashion, art, and culture
- Helping define and evolve Balcone’s editorial tone and direction
- Collaborating closely with the founder and creative director
There is also room to:
- Identify and connect with new brands, designers, and creatives
- Attend industry events, exhibitions, and fashion-related talks
- Support Balcone’s network growth and content sourcing
