Job Summary

Dorset Visual Arts is seeking an Emerging Artist Mentor to help support a group of emerging artists to partake in a professional development programme resulting in an exhibition of work.

Job Description

The Emerging Artist Mentor will support a group of emerging artists to develop their practice, offering guidance, support and practical advice. They will be expected to deliver one-to-one mentoring sessions and host group tutorials. They will support the development of final outcomes to exhibit in a group show. The mentor will also be required to produce digital resources for emerging artists.

Fee: £2,550 (£300 per day)
Time Commitment: 8.5 days (April – October)

Job Requirements

Person Specification:
Experience of mentoring artists
Understanding and knowledge of the Dorset arts and culture scene
Effective communicator who can work with a wide range of people
Experience of working in the arts sector as either a professional artist, curator, producer, or manager
Understanding and knowledge of contemporary arts and culture
Understanding of potential barriers to the arts and culture industry
Understanding of the needs of emerging artists
