Job Description

Darbar is the UK’s leading arts organisation promoting Indian classical music. We present world-class performances at prestigious venues including the Barbican Centre and Royal Albert Hall, broadcast on Sky Arts, and operate Darbar Player – our OTT streaming platform – alongside a YouTube channel with over 550k+ subscribers. As we celebrate our 20th anniversary and expand our new facilities at Darbar Art Works in Hayes, we’re looking for an exceptional individual to drive the growth and commercial sustainability of our digital platforms.

The primary role of the Digital Platforms & Audience Growth Manager is to develop and execute strategies that grow subscriber numbers, increase engagement, and generate revenue across our YouTube channel and Darbar Player OTT platform. This is a strategic leadership role focused on audience development and platform optimisation rather than content production. You will analyse platform performance, identify growth opportunities, and implement data-driven strategies to convert passive viewers into engaged subscribers and paying customers.

This role requires strong analytical capabilities, deep understanding of YouTube and OTT platform dynamics, and proven experience growing digital audiences. You will work closely with our content production team, marketing department, and senior leadership to position Darbar as the world’s leading digital destination for Indian classical music. You will be joining us at a pivotal point in our organisation’s digital transformation.

Job Requirements

Essential: 3-5 years’ experience in YouTube management, digital audience development, or streaming platform growth with proven metrics Demonstrable YouTube channel growth results (provide specific examples in your application) Experience with OTT/streaming platforms (Vimeo OTT, Uscreen, or similar) Strong knowledge of YouTube SEO, algorithm dynamics, and best practices Proficiency in YouTube Studio, Google Analytics, and video analytics tools Experience with subscription models and audience monetisation strategies Excellent analytical skills; ability to translate data into growth strategies Commercial awareness to meet subscriber and revenue targets Strong report writing and presentation skills for Board-level reporting Highly organised with ability to manage multiple priorities Degree in Marketing, Digital Media, Business, or equivalent experience
