Job Summary

London Contemporary Dance School is looking for a highly organised and skilled Administrative Assistant to join their busy School Office team.

Job Description

The post holder will contribute to the smooth running of the day-to-day responsibilities of the School Office of London Contemporary Dance School as a critical part of the Administration Team across the school year, with a key focus on student attendance monitoring, while further developing administrative skills in Higher Education for a busy arts and higher education organisation.

They will be required to operate autonomously across the spectrum of school administrative operations, working on certain projects and areas of administration where they will be directly managed by different members of the School Office team.

SALARY

The salary for this position is £29,384 per annum.

Salaries are reviewed in August each year when any cost-of-living increases are made. No salary changes are made until after successful completion of a probationary period.

CONTRACT TERMS

This is a 12-month, fixed-term contract. This is a full-time position (equivalent to 40 hours per week). These hours are inclusive of a one-hour paid lunch break each day. Your hours of work will be agreed with the line manager.

Whilst in the six-month probationary period the notice period will be two weeks. Once this period is successfully completed the post holder will be confirmed in the post and the notice period will be six weeks.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

KNOWLEDGE

  • Educated to degree level, equivalent further education training, or relevant professional experience.
  • An understanding of the actions required to develop a student-centred culture.

SKILLS

  • A detailed and systematic approach to work, with strong coordination and demonstrable planning and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and engage staff.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience in an education administration role.

  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
