Job Description

Wiltshire Council is looking for someone passionate about making arts and culture accessible for all children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) across Wiltshire.

In this role, you will lead the development and delivery of our Short Breaks Inclusive Arts Programme. In the first year, you will design and test pilot projects to explore different ways of delivering creative activities. From year two, you will implement a county-wide programme that offers a broad range of cultural and creative opportunities during term time and school holidays.

You will work closely with families, carers, and young people to ensure activities reflect their interests and aspirations. You will also collaborate with partners and artists to maintain high-quality, inclusive programmes and monitor outcomes to show impact and inform future improvements.

This role involves regular travel across Wiltshire and some evening and weekend work. You will need experience working with children and young people with SEND, knowledge of safeguarding, and qualifications or experience in arts or creative activity leadership.

Job Requirements

As part of Wiltshire Council’s Arts Service team, this role supports the strategic delivery of the Short Breaks programme and contributes to wider service objectives through collaborative working, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement. The Cultural Inclusion Officer primary requirement will be to design, develop, and deliver inclusive cultural activity programmes that improve health, wellbeing, and participation among children and young people with SEND across Wiltshire. It will also support the Wiltshire Cultural Strategy principle of Access – Work towards universal ‘cultural entitlement’ and ensure all opportunities are designed to be inclusive and accessible to all’.
