Grooveschool

Job Summary

A hands-on creative internship supporting music workshops, studio sessions, and media content at Grooveschool. Ideal for someone keen to build skills in music, podcasting, filming, and community arts in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Job Description

Grooveschool is a London-based music education charity delivering inclusive DJing, music production and podcasting programmes for young people and adults of all abilities.

We are offering a part-time Creative Media and Studio Assistant Internship for someone looking to gain real-world experience in a working music education and community studio environment.

The role supports the day-to-day running of workshops, studio sessions and creative projects. You’ll assist with studio setup and pack-down, basic recording and filming, podcast sessions, and content capture for social media and documentation. You’ll also gain insight into how a small arts charity operates behind the scenes.

This is a practical, learning-focused role suited to someone studying or early in their creative career, with an interest in music, media, community arts, or creative education. You don’t need formal experience – curiosity, reliability, and a willingness to learn are far more important.

Grooveschool is neurodivergent-friendly and values lived experience, care, and creativity. We particularly welcome applications from people underrepresented in the arts.

Contract & Pay

This is a part-time, temporary Creative Media and Studio Assistant Internship for a guaranteed 16 hours per week.

The role is paid at the London Living Wage rate of £14.80 per hour (2025-2026). This equates to £236.80 per week, paid monthly in arrears.

Working hours are agreed in advance and typically scheduled around workshops, studio sessions, and recordings. Sessions may take place during weekdays, evenings, or occasional weekends, with scheduling discussed and confirmed ahead of time.

This role is not a zero-hours or casual contract. Guaranteed weekly hours are provided for the duration of the internship.
