Job Summary

London-based artist and creative technologist seeks a film/documentary maker and a physical theatre performer/dancer for an Arts Council England funded research project exploring presence, mediation and perception. Process-driven, exploratory work with paid artist fee.

Job Description

I am a London-based artist and creative technologist working on a 9-month research project funded by Arts Council England (Developing Your Creative Practice). My work investigates the thresholds between embodied presence, mediation, perception, and the use of space.

For this phase, I am seeking:

  • A filmmaker / documentary maker

  • A physical theatre performer / dancer

to join a small number of exploratory sessions between February and June 2026.

The sessions will focus on spatial methods in intermedia, looking at how different practices intersect, share, and shape space. Together we will test ideas around presence, absence, and mediation in a studio setting.

Your contribution will respond to these research areas. There is also potential for this research to grow into larger works (performances, installations) in the future.

Fee & Time Commitment

  • Fee: £150 per 3-hour session

  • Commitment: Approximately 3-4 sessions total per collaborator

  • All sessions will be scheduled collaboratively in advance.

Job Requirements

  • Based in or able to travel to London to take part in several studio sessions (Feb-June 2025).

  • Background in filmmaking/documentary or physical theatre/dance.

  • Interest in experimental, process-based collaboration.

  • Experience in interdisciplinary or experimental contemporary practices is welcome.
