Job Summary

Punchdrunk Enrichment is looking for a Company Stage Manager the schools project of Fireside Tales taking place this Autumn.

Job Description

You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day running of rehearsals and performances attended by local Primary School groups. The Company Stage Manager will work closely with the Director, Production Manager and Producer to ensure the coordination and care of the performing company members. They will be a crucial point of liaison between the venue, performing company and the Punchdrunk Enrichment office.

Schedule

  • Preparation Days: 2 days in the week commencing 4th August
  • Rehearsals: Monday 11th August – Friday 29th August (weekdays, excluding the Monday 25th August Bank Holiday)
  • Tech Rehearsals: Monday 8th September – Friday 12th September
  • Performances:
    • BLOCK 1 Monday 22nd September – Friday 26th September
    • Further blocks of performances to be confirmed in July, for dates between Monday 6th – Friday 10th October and Monday 20th – Friday 24th October.

Salary

£690 weekly/ £165 daily

Breakdown of ITC rates of pay, day rates, overtime details, holiday pay calculations etc included at offer stage.

Job Requirements

Knowledge & Experience

  • A minimum of two years professional experience a stage manager, ideally with site-specific experience
  • Experience in working in theatre for young people
  • A solid working knowledge of union agreements (particularly Equity/ITC)
  • Experience of quick turnarounds between performances
  • Experience of operating QLab
  • General theatrical lighting and sound experience
  • General understanding of lighting/sound systems in order to problem solve

  • Ability to work on own initiative to find solutions
  • Able to independently work on administrative tasks
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Numerate and computer literate, with a particular ability to work in Microsoft Excel
  • An interest in performances for children and families

This role, due to its nature, duties and responsibilities, will be subject to a check by the DBS.
