Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced, highly organised and self-sufficient Company Stage Manager to manage the day-to-day running of HERE COMES J. EDGAR! An ambitious new musical at the King’s Head Theatre (London) this summer

Job Description

The CSM will be responsible for the smooth operation of rehearsals, technical rehearsals and performances, ensuring the production is maintained to a high artistic and technical standard throughout its run. The role is central to the delivery of the production and acts as a key communication hub between the creative team, production management, technical departments, cast, venue teams and Producers. The Company Stage Manager will be expected to work proactively, anticipate operational challenges and contribute to a professional, safe and supportive working environment for the full company. The Production is directed by Josh Seymour and General Managed by James Quaife. The SM team will consist of a CSM, DSM and ASM. The company is a cast of 12, band of 3-4. We have a large creative team on this ambitious production. The King’s Head is a 200-250 seat off west end venue in London. The show is co-written by legendary satirist and performer Harry Shearer (The Simpsons, Spinal Tap) and acclaimed comedy writer Tom Leopold (Cheers, Seinfeld) with music composed by Peter Matz (Barbara Streisand, Burt Bacharach). Job Requirements

We’re looking for someone with: *Experience as CSM or similar roles *Experience in off west end / fringe theatre context *Experience managing a company & team of this size *Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under time pressure. *Confident leadership style with the ability to manage teams calmly, fairly and effectively. *Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative and solutions-focused approach. *Strong working knowledge of backstage operations, cueing, scheduling and technical processes. *Clear understanding of health and safety practice within a theatre environment. Desirable: *Experience working on new musicals
