Job Summary
Job Description
Working with the Chief Operations Officer and Production Co-ordinator to create the festival schedules, welcome packs, contact sheets, handbooks, NA lists, etc
Working with the production directors to produce and distribute the weekly rehearsal schedule and manage and take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the London rehearsal venue.
Schedule and attend seasonal production activities, rehearsals, meetings, coaching, costume fittings etc.
Attend rehearsals and performances, in London and at the Grange Hampshire
Support the seasonal stage management teams
Liaise and facilitate the set-up and management of internal and external rehearsal venues.
Management and welfare of the performing company, production teams, children, chaperones and production staff, concerning accommodation, travel, payments and other requirements, as necessary
Ensure effective and timely communication to all members of the company
Co-ordinate and supervise the company meals during the stage rehearsal period
To control and oversee each company for all performances, ensuring that the agreed and established artistic and technical standards developed during the rehearsal are maintained at all times
To supervise and arrange extra events such as filming, photo shoots, educational workshops, or publicity events as required
To carry out all other duties normally associated with the role of Company Stage Manager of a first-class festival
To create and encourage a supportive and positive backstage environment for the cast and crew
To comply with all company policies and undertake any other reasonable duties as required
Job Requirements
Proven experience as a Company Stage Manager on large-scale productions or within a similar-sized organisation
An excellent communicator and listener with the ability to manage creative individuals and large teams with an understanding and commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion
Proven track record in managing multiple tasks at once and meeting deadlines, with a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail
Experience in tracking expenditure or budget management
Excellent problem-solving capabilities and the ability to stay calm in highly pressured situations
Up-to-date understanding of existing legislation and best practices in all aspects of production health and safety, including the CDM and management processes
Familiarity and experience of working with Microsoft Office software
An interest in opera, live performance and the arts
Ideally applicant will have their own car due to location of the theatre.
