Job Description
Dash Arts is seeking community participants aged 18+ to take part in Our Public House, a new play by Barney Norris presented at Marylebone Theatre.
Inspired by speechwriting workshops held across the UK, Our Public House explores community, politics, belonging and the power of ordinary voices being heard.
Participants will work alongside professional actors and the creative team to help bring the world of the play to life. No previous acting experience is necessary.
The opportunity includes:
An optional speechwriting workshop exploring what changes could create a better future.
Rehearsals with the creative team.
Participation in two or more live performances at Marylebone Theatre.
The opportunity for selected participants to perform a speech developed through the workshop process.
Participants will watch the first half of the performance from the auditorium before joining the action on stage in the second half.
Travel support, meals on performance days and complimentary tickets are provided.
Job Requirements
Must be aged 18 or over.
No previous performance or acting experience required.
Enthusiasm for theatre, community participation and sharing ideas.
Ability to attend the rehearsal date and a minimum of two performances.
Willingness to work collaboratively with professional artists and fellow participants.
Interest in speechwriting, storytelling, community engagement or civic conversation is welcomed but not essential.
