Turn End Trust
Job Summary
Job Description
Can you help Turn End build new communities and audiences around architecture, horticulture, making and gardening?
https://www.turnend.org.uk/ – Turn End Trust is inviting tenders for a Community Engagement Lead Consultancy. The consultancy is funded via a grant from the Rothschild Foundation and must complete by 31st July 2028. This role is offered on a freelance consultancy basis. It is anticipated it will require around one day per week (138 days in total) over approximately 36 months. Total funding for this consultancy will not exceed £30,000 (inclusive of VAT).
With growing interest in Turn End as a space for learning, we need to know more about what audiences need from us and why. Now in its 60th year, this unique mid-century modern site has the potential to reach many more people in the local and wider community. While most design and art-focused houses have taken on a second life as a museum, the Trust feels strongly that the legacy of Turn End should remain a living, active place where people can engage in different ways, and feel like they are exploring a home, not a museum.
This consultancy will aim to build new relationships with local audiences who are not yet engaged with Turn End. Projects with Early Years and Families groups, Primary and Secondary Schools, Universities and local cultural partners will inspire and excite new audiences about architecture, horticulture and sustainability. Whether simply to enjoy respite from a busy life within the quiet of the garden or to learn new skills in woodworking, design and horticulture, the Trust believes Turn End has a unique and exciting potential to help shape lives and grow new communities of learning.
