Choral Apprenticeships

St John the Divine Church, Kennington, is pleased to invite applications for Choral Apprenticeship positions for the 2024/25 academic year. We are seeking talented young singers (SATB) between the ages of 18 and 26 who may be students, gap year participants, graduates, or early-career musicians. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to enhance their sight-reading, choral leadership, and educational experience in a supportive and enriching environment.

Position: Choral Apprentice (SATB)

Location: St John the Divine Church, Kennington SW9 6JA

Term: September 2025 – July 2026

Duration: 39 weeks (school term time)

• Weekly Hours: 8 hours

  • Tuesdays: 3:15-5:15 pm

  • Wednesdays: 3:15-6:30 pm

  • Sundays: 9:00-11:45 am

Stipend: £4,000/year (paid in termly instalments of £1,333.34)

We are a diverse church of many backgrounds that boasts one of the finest church music programmes in London. Alongside the high-quality voluntary Adult Choir of approximately 30 members, the Youth Choirs are attended by over 80 children. They consist of the Boys’ and Girls’ Choirs (ages 6-11), and the Consort (Ages 11-18).
