We’re looking for a Chair or Co-Chair to join TeesDance, the flagship charity for dance in the Tees Valley. Help us bring dance to people’s doorsteps, champion care-centred creativity, and shape the future of movement, wellbeing and community in the region.

Job Description

TeesDance is building a future where dance is visible, valued, and accessible to everyone – where movement brings people together, builds confidence, and creates connection right on their doorsteps. As we enter an exciting new chapter as a registered charity, we’re looking for a Chair or Co-Chair to help lead this journey.

You’ll join a care-centred, creative community using dance to drive social change, improve wellbeing, and celebrate local pride. Leadership at TeesDance is shared, supportive, and rooted in collaboration – where every voice matters and care sits at the heart of decision-making.

We’re seeking a Chair or Co-Chair to provide strategic leadership, advocacy and governance for TeesDance.

You’ll:

– Support the Director and Trustees in realising our vision and long-term sustainability.

– Ensure sound governance, risk management and financial oversight.

– Act as an ambassador for TeesDance, building relationships with funders, partners and communities.

– Champion our values and nurture a culture of care, inclusion and excellence.

Time Commitment

– Four board meetings per year (online, with one in-person AGM) – Approx. two working group sessions annually

– Attendance at key events or projects

– Two-year term (renewable)

Reimbursement Voluntary role – reasonable travel expenses re
