We are looking for a new Chair of our Trustees. This is a unique opportunity to lead a charity that is making a real difference in young people’s lives.
Job Description
You’ll be part of a passionate team, helping to unlock creative futures and drive systemic change through the arts, contributing to the nation’s wider cultural landscape.
As Chair, you will lead the Board of Trustees in ensuring Artswork delivers on its mission and remains financially sustainable, strategically ambitious, and responsive to the needs of young people.
This Job is remote, but we will need you to travel for occasional board meetings and events which are in the South of the UK.
TIME COMMITMENT
- Online induction and training (2 days)
- Approximately 1 day per month
- Attendance at quarterly 2-hour online Board meetings, with one held each year in London in a hybrid/in-person format and running longer to accommodate the Annual General Meeting (AGM)
- Attendance at extraordinary online Board meetings (as needed)
- Attendance at an annual in-person Staff and Trustee Away Day (usually held near Southampton)
- Occasional representation at events and stakeholder meetings

- Is highly adept in communication, influencing, and relationship-building
- Brings strong business or philanthropic networks and is confident in engaging potential supporters
- Understands the challenges and opportunities facing the arts, education, and youth sectors
- Is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion
- Can maximise the diverse knowledge, skills, and experience of the Board in order to inform and grow the shared vision
