Could you be our new Chair of Trustees?
We are looking for a supportive, experienced and motivated new Chair to take the reins from early 2026 when our current Chair moves on.
Can you provide strong and inclusive leadership for our brilliant Board? We need someone to drive effective governance and ensure that our work continues to have strategic alignment with our charity’s mission and values.
You will act as an ambassador, advocate and connector, supporting the Chief Executive and Senior Team to fulfil darts’ mission to improve life, learning and health in Doncaster.

Chair Responsibilities
Providing strategic leadership
- Oversee strategic planning, ensuring alignment with the charity’s core purpose and values, and steward darts’ long-term development
- Chair board meetings inclusively, effectively and impartially, ensuring Trustees work collaboratively to make decisions in the best interests of darts and in accordance with its governing documents
- Work closely with the Chief Executive and Deputy Chief Executive to ensure Board Meetings and the AGM are well planned and appropriately administrated
- Ensure the Board performs effectively with the skills and experience it needs; make plans to ensure the recruitment, induction and development of new Trustees
- Represent darts at events when appropriate and be willing to be a spokesperson for the organisation
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including City of Doncaster Council and Arts Council England.
