Libraries Unlimited
Job Summary
Job Description
Artists – apply now!
Libraries Unlimited is excited to announce a new opportunity for artists to be part of an innovative Digital & Media Literacy Engagement project, funded by Ofcom.
We are seeking creative practitioners from a wide range of artforms to design and deliver engaging, inclusive activities that explore digital and media literacy with children, young people and families across Devon and Torbay.
The chosen activity will take place across four libraries in Devon and Torbay in Summer 2026. With a £2,600 fee and scope for imaginative, participatory approaches (from workshops to performances or installations), this is an opportunity to spark conversation around misinformation, online safety, and AI.
This opportunity forms part of our wider digital literacy work, supporting communities to build confidence, critical thinking and creativity in an increasingly digital world. While the theme centres on digital and media literacy, we are particularly keen to hear from artists whose approach prioritises creativity, participation and shared experiences. We welcome proposals from practitioners working in visual arts, theatre, creative writing, spoken word, music, film, digital arts, craft and interdisciplinary practices.
What We’re Looking For
We are inviting proposals from artists who can:
-
Deliver engaging, accessible workshops or creative experiences
-
Work with diverse audiences, including families
-
Encourage critical thinking and creativity around digital and media content
-
Tour their activity to four library locations
Selected artist(s) will work in partnership with Libraries Unlimited to develop and deliver a programme of activity between 18 May and 31 July 2026, with dates agreed in advance.
Applications close 23 March, 9am. For more info and to apply, go to: https://www.librariesunlimited.org.uk/digital-media-literacy-artist-call-out/
