Job Description
We’re seeking passionate, values-driven individuals to join our Board of Trustees and help guide the strategic direction of Body Politic Dance.
As a trustee, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our mission to transform the landscape of hip hop dance and theatre. We’re committed to amplifying underrepresented voices and widening access to the arts for individuals from marginalised backgrounds.
Whether you bring experience in governance, finance, fundraising, youth work-or simply a passion for equity and social change-we want to hear from you.

Person Specification
Essential:
- Commitment to Body Politic’s mission, values, and equity-focused approach.
- Strategic thinking and sound judgment.
- Willingness to actively participate in meetings and charity life.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively.
- Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion: Candidates must also be able to show that they share Body Politic’s commitment to diversity, equality and sustainability.
- Candidates must be over the age of 18 to apply.
Desirable:
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: arts & culture, safeguarding, HR, finance, fundraising, or education.
- Understanding of the challenges facing underrepresented communities.
- Previous board or governance experience (not essential).
