Bright Sparks Theatre Arts

Job Summary

Bright Sparks Theatre Arts is looking for new Board Members to join us at an exciting time in our development.

Job Description

We are a Leeds-based arts organisation led by and for Learning Disabled people, creating opportunities for people to develop confidence, creativity and choice through creative activity including drama and performance.

Our work includes weekly drama clubs, outreach activity and performances in schools, communities and professional theatre settings.

As we continue to grow, with a plan to transition to Charity status, we are strengthening our Board and are looking for people who can bring new skills, experience and perspectives to our organisation.

We’d love to hear from people with experience in:

– Finance or financial management
– Charity governance or legal matters
– Safeguarding
– Fundraising and income generation
– HR and employment
– Commissioning, social care or public services
– Business planning and organisational development

We’re also interested in people with experience in arts and theatre, education, community work, partnerships, inclusion, accessibility or evaluation – and people who bring lived experience of disability or Learning Disability.

You don’t need previous trustee experience. We’re looking for people who share our values, have something to contribute and are excited about helping shape the future of Bright Sparks.

As a Board Member, you’ll meet quarterly online or in-person, to help provide strategic leadership and good governance, support our growth and sustainability, and make sure the voices of our members remain at the heart of our decisions.
