Job Summary

Bloc Projects is currently looking to recruit a new Chairperson and up to two new Trustees for our dynamic Sheffield-based arts organisation and charity. Our small team are keen to develop sustainability and resilience with an active board committed to keeping art vital.

Job Description

We are looking for passionate individuals who are committed to supporting Bloc Project’s team to meet the organisation’s objectives and ambitions. We have recently carried out a skills audit of our current trustees and have identified a need for trustees with experience in finance and fundraising to help support the future sustainability of the organisation. Bloc Projects is committed to its board being representative of the communities in which we work and we therefore positively encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and lived experiences from across the UK.

Job Requirements

  • Commitment to the organisation and willingness to devote time to 6 meetings per year, ideally at a 2 – 6 year tenure.
  • Advocate strongly for the organisation.
  • Strategic vision in decision-making, to assist the organisation in achieving a high-profile national position on the cultural sector.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement.
  • Ability to think creatively.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Tact and diplomacy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Impartiality, fairness and the ability to respect confidences.
