With a mission of “Art For All”, Attenborough Arts Centre champions artists, communities and participation through contemporary visual arts, performance, learning and engagement programmes. As the Centre enters an exciting new chapter, guided by an ambitious Business Plan to 2030, it is focused on growing its national profile, strengthening its impact and building a financially sustainable future.
As Attenborough Arts Centre approaches its 30th anniversary in 2027, this is a unique opportunity to contribute to the next stage of its journey.
We are particularly interested in hearing from people with expertise or experience in:
Artistic programming
Museums and galleries leadership
Co-design with communities
Placemaking
Business innovation
Venue operations
Large-scale capital project delivery
You do not need previous Board experience. We value professional expertise alongside lived experience and are committed to broadening representation across our Advisory Board so it better reflects the communities we serve. We are especially keen to hear from disabled people, who remain underrepresented within the cultural sector.

Job Requirements
Experience from the following:
Specialism in strategic artistic programming and / or curation, specifically within the fields of visual arts and/or performance
Best practice in museums and galleries
Experience of co-design and democratic decision-making with communities
Expertise in placemaking
Experience of innovation in business planning or operational excellence in leading cultural organisations
Experience of delivering large-scale capital projects
Commercial and corporate experience, particularly of professions including accountancy and law
Non-executive Director experience in the charity sector
Excellent communication and advocacy skills with the ability to act as effective ambassadors for AAC and to represent and promote it with funders and stakeholders at the highest levels;
A capacity for fundraising, and eager to bring new networks to the organisation
Commitment: 4 meetings annually, 1 Away Day and about 2 hours per month for sub-groups or advice
