Job Description

Barista: we’re looking for a motivated and proactive barista who’ll serve top quality coffees with friendly service, with attention to detail when it comes hygiene, health and safety. The ideal candidate will have pre-existing barista experience (refresher training is provided), have great people skills, and be willing to work early mornings
(shift patterns detailed in job pack).

Front of House Team member: We’re looking for a motivated and proactive individual who’ll welcome audiences for performances, ensure the safety of audiences and the building, and serve our
delicious range of coffees, teas, wine and snacks to customers.

There is an overlap between these roles – please specify whether you would like to be considered for Barista, Front of House Team Member or both. Your preference will not affect your chances, and should be an honest reflection of your availability and skills.

Job Requirements

Barista Role Responsibilities:
Prepare high-quality coffee and serve a range of cakes, pastries, snacks and toasties.
Serve alcohol including wines, simple cocktails, beers and ciders.
Take orders, process payments, and engage with customers.
Open or close the caf and maintain excellent hygiene standards.
Support caf events, handle deliveries, and assist with deep cleaning when required.

The cafe is open Monday-Friday, with the following typical shift patterns:
Morning – 7:30am-1:30pm or 8:30am-12:30pm
Afternoon – 12:30pm-6pm
Evening – 2pm-8pm

Hours are variable due to the nature of the work, but we would typically expect to offer 2-3 shifts a week of 5.5 hours each.
