Angel Shed are specialists in inclusive performing arts. We facilitate accessible activities for children and young people of all backgrounds. We are led by children’s ideas, and they are active participants in the planning, creation, and performance of our work. This is a supporting role, assisting the workshop co-leaders with facilitation of weekly Angel Shed sessions. We are looking for a committed individual, motivated to develop as a facilitator, and who is passionate about inclusion, theatre, and working with children and young people. They will be a playful facilitator who can handle the creative unpredictability of sessions with a light-hearted approach and keep the wellbeing of children always at the forefront. Please note, formal training or qualifications are not required for this role and support will be provided to the successful applicant.

This is a freelance self-employed position at £16.00 per hour

Fixed-term part-time contract, 3.5 hours per week (term-time only), January – July 2026. Mondays 3.45-7.15pm (planning 3.45-5.00pm + delivery 5.00-7.15pm)

Position subject to an enhanced DBS check (provided by Angel Shed).

Job Requirements

Person Specification

You must:

  • be an aspiring facilitator with a positive attitude.
  • have experience working with children.
  • be able to foster good and supportive working relationships with staff, volunteers, and members.
  • be someone who will value and maintain the positive and inclusive ethos of Angel Shed.

You will ideally:

  • have experience working in SEN/D or inclusive settings.
  • have been trained in safeguarding and child protection.

We particularly welcome applications from those who also have skills in movement/dance or music.
