Artist Tutor – Introduction to Ceramics

Midlands Arts Centre’s Learning and Participation programme is extensive with over 150 term courses and a wide selection of short courses for children, young people, and adults. Our courses cover many subjects, from visual arts and crafts to digital arts, performance, music, and wellbeing.

We are looking for a new Artist Tutor to deliver our Introduction to Ceramics (CE109) as part of MAC’s Learning & Participation programme. The course takes place on Saturday mornings (10am-12:30pm) and teaching will begin in our autumn term.

The rate of pay is £22.26 per hour.

Principle Purpose of Post

To deliver the tuition of a 12-week Introduction to Ceramics course for adults, as part of MAC’s Learning & Participation programme, starting in Autumn 2025.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about the arts and informal learning experiences and enjoys teaching Ceramics courses and workshops.

You are required to be reliable, personable, and flexible, to cater for each student’s personal goals and aims.

The successful candidate will be part of a large team of Artist Tutors who help us deliver a vibrant and dynamic programme of informal learning.

Note

• This course will run on Saturday mornings throughout the academic year at the times listed.
• The Autumn Term 2025 starts w/c Monday 15 September 2025.
• The Spring Term 2026 starts w/c Monday 5th January 2026.
• The Summer Term starts w/c Monday 13th April 2026
• We expect the successful candidate to attend an induction session at MAC before they start.
