Single Homeless Project
Job Summary
Job Description
SHP Arthouse is an innovative in-house creative programme available exclusively to people supported by Single Homeless Project (SHP). All programme participants are either experiencing, recovering from, or at risk of homelessness.
In 2026 we will be delivering an 8-week therapeutic found object sculpture course for max 15 women & non binary people exploring themes of empowerment & change.
We are looking for a skilled artist with substantial experience working with found object/mixed media sculpture to facilitate the practical art and sculpture element of the course while the therapeutic element is facilitated by an SHP therapist.
The course will include the group creating a mixed media sculpture around the theme of empowerment. They will then each be asked to select an object that for them signifies something that they would like to see shift or change in their own lives, within themselves or within their community. Participants will then work with this core object and explore different ways to change/transform it.
Participants will then have the opportunity to exhibit their work within Islington.
We are looking for experiences and skilled artistic facilitators who can communicate well with adults from a range of backgrounds and who can adapt their approach to support each individual’s creativity.
This role will be responsible for planning & delivering the creative art aspect of the course with support from SHP staff incl. the SHP Art manager.
