Job Summary
Full-time 5 days/ 37.5 hrs per week / 40-47.5k euros (EU) plus performance bonus scheme. Málaga based – we would prefer an office-based role, but we are open to partial remote working, with weekly visits to our office.
Job Description
Artelier is a leading Art Consultancy working internationally, the company’s portfolio of projects includes public art/exhibitions, private residential, yachts/aviation, corporate and high-end hotels. We are a small team of passionate and dedicated individuals.
You will focus on researching, developing and delivering curated artwork collections for a full range of our projects.
- You will carry out contextual research and development of artistic themes for the projects – a process which will inform the artwork direction, as well as the accessories.
- This can be considered a ‘hybrid’ role where the boundaries between artwork, craft and accessories blur to create an interwoven and holistic outcome.
- You will support the company in illustrating artwork ideas, specifically using hand-drawing and graphic design software skills to visualise concepts.
- Carryout ongoing background research into new artists and artwork developments for our artwork library, which is managed by a colleague.
- Be responsible for developing sophisticated, well-researched and contextually relevant accessories concept presentations.
- Read spaces and intelligently curate meaningful collections with narratives that relate to the project theme and draw parallels with the wider artwork curation.
- Refine and evolve the concept presentations through to schematic design mark-ups on floor plans, elevations and renders.
- Prepare detailed design documents and schedules with item specification, procurement details and supplier information.
- Liaise with suppliers to establish stock levels, commissioning details and arrange sampling.
- Prepare detailed programme and budgets.
- Lead on client communication and travel where appropriate.
- Take a lead in the procurement and commission management of key pieces.
- Dress and style projects onsite.
- Lead in researching and establishing an innovative and unique library of accessories and suppliers, including specific thematic categories, materials, techniques.
Job Requirements
Education and experience
- Educated to a minimum of a university degree level in architecture/interiors/design, or an art related subject.
- At least 7 years’ relevant professional experience and training in interior design/art consultancy and project delivery for an international firm.
- Track record of designing and delivering largescale and complex international design projects and programmes.
- Experience and evidence of successfully managing budgets over £500k.
- Team leadership and ability to inspire and managing a team of 5 or more.
- Experience of working closely with client team and managing project relations.
- Experience of managing suppliers – preferably with experience of working with artists and galleries.
- Proven technical skills and proficiency with project management software, as well as Adobe Creative suite (Photoshop, InDesign), and AutoCAD.
- Sound first-hand experience of managing the commissioning process of bespoke and complex artwork.
