Job Description
£1,700.00 p.a. payable in arrears upon receipt of termly invoices. The role will have an average of 85 hours work across any academic year.
Fulham Camerata seeks to appoint two Choral Scholars: one alto and one tenor. The appointment will be made for an initial fixed-term period of one year from 1st September 2025 – 31st August 2026 with the possibility for renewal. This post will be remunerated on a self-employed basis.
As Choral Scholar, the successful candidate will:
– Sing for rehearsals with Fulham Camerata at All Saints, Fulham, SW6 3LA on Tuesday evenings (in term time) from 7.30-9.30pm.
– Sing for four concerts throughout the academic year including a three-hour rehearsal on the concert day. Concerts are held at All Saints, Fulham or at a church in the local area.
– A full list of dates for the 2025-26 academic year is available at the bottom of this advert. Dates are made available to all musicians engaged by Fulham Camerata by 1st August in advance of the following academic year (beginning 1st September).
Job Requirements
Choral Scholars at Fulham Camerata are expected to provide strong vocal leadership to those in their voice parts in both rehearsals and concerts. The ideal candidate will be a team player, a strong sight reader and have a well-developed sense of vocal technique. It is likely the candidate will be a Graduate but applications are welcomed from outstanding singers currently studying as Undergraduates. This scholarship could be an excellent opportunity for those beginning – or intending to pursue – a career in the music industry.
