Job Description
We are seeking an actor for selected tour dates of PHILOSOPHY OF THE WORLD. They would be replacing the actor who originally devised and performed the show, however they should be able to bring their own skill set and personality to the role.
We’re looking for someone with strong physical ability. Experience of devised theatre and live art practices are a bonus but strong traditional acting skills are a must.
You do not need to possess all of the criteria below, if you’re excited by the project and up for a bit of chaos.
REHEARSALS : W/C May 4th
PROVISIONAL TOUR SCHEDULE:
May 10th – 11th
May 13th – 16th
May 23rd
May 29th – 30th
September / October – 3 International locations TBC
October 21st – 23rd (UK)
PAY : Equity/ITC or above.
Job Requirements
Essential
Playing age 50-65
Male
Strong acting range (able to convincingly play bumbly, assertive and rageful)
Physical ability (involves being thrown to the floor getting back up multiple times)
Fighting / stage combat / stage death
Dancing (basic choreography)
Desirable
Basic tech or Stage Management skills but not necessary (this is because you’d be playing a Stage Manager)
Comfortable with mess, being covered in liquid/s and objects being thrown.
Comfortable with close contact with naked bodies
