Job Description
We are looking for two dancers to become part of our ‘Playscape: How to Build A Galaxy’ delivery and performance team.
This work is an immersive dance experience menu combining dance, motion capture technology and visuals to open up new possibilities for physical, social and digital connection between people. The project works with schools, libraries, theatres, rural spaces and any services that support people.
This initial project’s main focus is redeveloping the performance and workshops for hospitals and hospices, with a focus on pediatrics and children’s hospices.
This project has been developed by Katie Dale-Everett Dance in collaboration with US technologists Erin Cuevas, Matthew Conway and Wahei Lam, as part of the Goldsmiths Mocap Streamer Virtual Residency (2022). The project is additionally supported by Arts Council England National Lottery Funding.
Job Requirements
We are looking to work with two dancers who have at least 3 years experience of working in the industry and who also live in East Sussex who;

Have experience working with harder to reach communities.

Have experience working in untraditional performance and engagement settings.

Have high level performance and facilitation skills.

Are able to adapt and respond to different delivery settings with sensitivity and intuition.

Are able to pick material up quickly whilst also having strong improvisational skills

Are adaptable and flexible and good at working in a small team (you will both perform and support set-up as an example).

Good availability and flexibility throughout the week including weekends.

Have an interest in technology.

Are happy to travel and stay away from home.

Are looking for a long-term freelance opportunity (into 2026 and beyond as the work arises).

Must have a DBS or be willing to get one.
