Job Summary
Job Description
Andro and Eve would like to work with people based in the North of England, who share our values and have a strong set of skills and experiences. We’re excited about meeting people with strategic leadership experience who share our enthusiasm for queer culture and commitment to equity and social justice.
Andro and Eve is a queer arts organisation based in Sheffield and working across South Yorkshire to platform queer culture, support LGBTQ+ artists, connect communities and raise awareness of LGBTQ+ equality.
As a social enterprise, our organisation is strategically guided by a board of Directors. We welcome applications from people from a range of sectors or backgrounds. We’d love to hear from you if you have knowledge or expertise in one or more the following areas:
-HR / People Management / Policy
-Financial Management or Planning
-Business Development
-Fundraising in the Third Sector (charity or social enterprise).
-Senior Leadership experience in publicly funded Arts, Culture or Heritage
Previous experience of being on a board, committee or senior leadership team is required.
As well as supporting a diverse range of artists, our core team and board bring a range of perspectives to our organisation. We are committed to further building representation across our team so that our team reflects the community we serve, with specific focus on those aged 50+, those of the Global Majority and people who are Disabled. Although we believe strongly in being led by and for the community we serve, board members do not need to identify as LGBTQ+.
As a board member you will be expected to attend quarterly board meetings as well as other meetings as required.
This role is offered on an expenses only basis. Where additional duties are requested or where a director would not be able to participate in board business owing to loss of income, fees can be paid to non-executive directors.
Training and development is offered as part of this role.
Job Requirements
As a board member you will be expected to attend quarterly board meetings as well as additional meetings as required to the demands of the company. Most of these take place online. An extra 4 – 8 hours per month is a realistic guide to cover time to reply to emails, join additional meetings, check any urgent communications, and input into key decisions / documents.
