Job Description

C. Roberson & Co is one of the world’s oldest manufacturers of artists’ materials. This is an excellent opportunity to join a small, friendly team where no two days are the same. The role combines customer service, office administration and hands-on manufacturing, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a varied role and taking responsibility.
Day to day, the role is primarily focused on managing our mail-order operation. This includes taking and processing orders, dealing with customer enquiries and taking payment as well as managing email enquiries. The successful candidate will also assist with paint production, including preparing ingredients, mixing paints and filling products when required. The role is based at our Scrubs Lane premises in West London. Full training will be provided in our Odoo ERP system, enabling the successful applicant to access customer information, process sales orders and produce reports.
Job Type: Part-time, four days per week (Monday to Thursday)
Hours: 9.30am-5.30pm, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break (30 hours per week)
Starting Salary: £21,000 per annum

Job Requirements

Experience in admin and office work
Experience in a commercial office environment
The ability to work in a pressurised environment, meeting daily deadlines for order processing and dispatch
Ability to work unsupervised, make decisions and use own initiative
The ability, and proven experience of establishing and developing productive relationships with customers
High levels of motivation and the ability to motivate others
Ability to manage conflicting priorities
Strong problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Positive, ‘can do’ attitude
Professional and confident telephone manner
Good numeracy skills
Good IT skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Good knowledge of artists’ materials
Experience using an ERP or CRM system such as Odoo, SAP or Microsoft Dynamics
Familiarity with EPOS systems
Positive attitude, self-motivated, active and independent
Safety conscious
Ability to work in a busy environment

Job Responsibilities

Processing customer payments
Preparing monthly customer statements and assisting with credit control
Organise the daily dispatch of orders
Manage the sales order process, including:
Receiving and processing customer orders via telephone, email and the website
Scheduling and prioritising orders to meet production and dispatch deadlines
Assisting with the manufacture of paint products by measuring ingredients, following production recipes, mixing and filling products when required
Working to specific production schedules and project deadlines
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment in accordance with health and safety procedures
Liaising with customers, production staff, warehouse personnel and delivery companies to ensure orders are processed and delivered efficiently.
Maintain accurate customer records within the CRM system and ensure enquiries, quotations and sales opportunities are followed up promptly.
